History

Manotick Tree Movers Inc. began as a registered partnership in 1991 (incorporated in 1996) by Ralph Sikkema and Fred Stevens.

In 2011 Ken Stevens, Fred’s son, bought Ralph’s shares. Ken now runs the business but Fred and Ralph remain very valuable managers. Our management team currently
combine to offer over 60 years of hands-on experience inthe tree care industry.

Our early beginnings of relocating trees with a single tree spade has evolved to now include a complete range of the most progressive tree moving equipment available. Our
tree spades sizes 38″ through 90″ are capable of digging and relocating trees up to 9″ caliper size, including evergreensup to 600 cm (20 feet) tall.

We have always taken much pride in personally selecting and sourcing the finest quality seedlings and liners to grow and develop at our 55 acre farm at Carsonby. This allows
us to offer a wide selection of the finest locally grown trees already proven hardy for our severe Ottawa winters.

Over the years our tree pruning, removal, and stump grinding services has also grown to become a significant component of our business.

Our Purpose

The purpose of Manotick Tree Movers Inc. is to glorify and honor our Creator and Redeemer Jesus Christ. As a Christian business we are committed and motivated to being up front about our Christian value system. It is this faith and its fundamental values that shape our commitment in the day-to-day tasks of business management and practices in arboriculture. We believe our natural resources, including land, water, and trees are gifts from God and we are to be diligent stewards of them. As we carry out this mandate in the tree industry and do business in our community we resolve each day to love God and our neighbour as ourselves and are committed to achieving first class customer service through courtesy, respect, and integrity.

But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.

He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out it’s roots to the stream. It does not fear when the heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
