General Labourer – Tree Planting Crew Assistant

Job Type: Full-time seasonal (April to December)

Location: North Gower (Ottawa), ON

Wage: $20-25/h depending on experience level

Description:

We are looking for a hardworking individual who enjoys working outside and is interested in a career in Arboriculture. The work, which is physically demanding at times, will be on our tree planting crew or stump grinding crew. Duties will include a variety of physical tasks including digging holes, pickaxing, raking and shoveling mulch, carting and handling 1500 lb rootballs, as well as wheelbarrowing soil and mulch. The typical day is 7-5 during the spring and fall and 7-4 during July and August but the hours do vary and extra hours are usually available. Will be expected to work every other Saturday during April and May and the occasional Saturday during the summer and fall.

• DZ, ArZ or AZ license
• 0-8 Ton Crane Certification
• Post secondary education in arboriculture

Arborist/Tree Climber

Description:

We are looking for a hardworking individual who loves working with trees and has previous climbing experience.  The work, which is physically demanding at times, will be working with one of our tree service crews assisting with tree removal and pruning jobs.  Duties will include tree climbing to complete the work using rigging, chainsaws, handsaws, and cranes according to industry standards for tree removal and pruning, operating a brush chipper, dragging brush, and equipment maintenance etc..  The typical day is 7-4 but the hours do vary.
